Career Decision-Making
Self assessment is the first step in figuring out what career path you want to follow. While searching for your career discovery, the Center recommends you see a Career Counselor to find out if this is “the right path for me” and engage other resources. Enroll in Orientation 151, a one hour pass/fail credit course designed for career decision-making. Sign on to MIX, select the STAR tab and scroll down to the Career LifeLine to connect to SIGI Plus, a state-of-the-art interactive simulation and gaming tool designed to get students on track from major to career. Another resource is the Self-Directed Search aimed at getting you some interpretive results for a profoundly changing job market.The SDS is a simulated career counseling experience and enables individuals to choose careers and fields of study that best match their self-reported skills and interests.
Keep in mind, this rapidly changing job market has been turbulent during the past decade and may not be predictable. However, the future regarding your career plans is something you can shape and should shape for yourself. We want to be of assistance.
