What do I need to join 4-H?
You don't need a uniform. You don't need lots of money. You don't need to live on a farm or own any animals. But you do need to love fun and adventure!

Are you between the ages of 9 and 21? If you are, you're eligible to join 4-H. Are you aged 7 or 8? If you are, you're eligible to join Cloverbuds.

Here's what you need to do to join 4-H:

  1. Ask your parent or guardian for permission to join.
  2. Contact one of the local club leaders about joining. Or ask your folks or one of your teachers about starting a new 4-H club.
  3. Find out about 4-H clubs in your community. Call your county's West Virginia University Extension Office.

Need more information?

By phone or mail, register your e-mail address with West Virginia's main 4-H office at West Virginia University in Morgantown, and we'll e-mail you information about your county's 4-H program. We want to protect your privacy, so don't send us your name and address over the Internet. Once we send you information about your local 4-H program, you can decide who and when to call in your commmunity. Then we'll send your e-mail address to your county 4-H office, which is part of your local WVU Extension Service Office. Your 4-H agent will send you names and telephone numbers of club leaders in your community. Give them a call!
