The Heart of the Mountains video is 1 hour and 20 minutes long and features nine heart survivor stories of 15 minutes each. It informs and motivates women to take action. West Virginia Neurologist and American Heart Association spokesperson, Dr. Claudette Brooks gives commentary on each woman’s story. The language is plain and direct. Viewers will learn that heart disease could happen to them. It covers personal risk factors, signs and symptoms, and practical ways to live a heart-healthy lifestyle.

The copyrighted video was produced by the West Virginia University Extension Service, American Heart Association, and WVU Prevention Research Center, in collaboration with the West Virginia Library Commission. It is a centerpiece of the Love Your Heart Talk Toolkit. It can also be used separately. Viewers are encouraged to access the resources at Go Red for Women and www.nhlbi.nih.gov.
