STAR STUDENT BILLING INFORMATION
SPRING 2007
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The option to request a paper bill for Summer session will be available after April 24, 2007. Please check out this tutorial for more information:

  • In order to better serve you and provide current account information at the touch of your fingertips, West Virginia University (WVU) has your account information available electronically through the STAR Information System for students at http://www.mix.wvu.edu. In addition, beginning with the Summer 2007 term we will no longer be sending out paper bills. This means that you will be responsible for checking your Mountaineer Information Express (MIX) e-mail account for date-sensitive e-mails regarding upcoming tuition and fee and/or room and board payment deadlines. You will also be responsible for checking your student account status on STAR to obtain the correct amount that you owe and to make payment before all due dates if you wish to avoid late penalties. If registered, you can expect your first electronic notification via MIX on April 24, 2007.
  • If you are using a “Bill Pay” service through a personal bank account, please have these checks sent directly to the following address: West Virginia University, Office of Student Accounts, P.O. Box 6003, Morgantown, WV 26506. Also, to help ensure that your payment is received and posted in a timely manner, please allow 7-10 business days from the time of your “Bill Pay” request for your check to be received and processed by our office.
  • SPRING due date is Friday, January 5, 2007. A late payment fee will be assessed on the following business day for all accounts of students that have not paid at least 60% of their billed balance (after financial aid and waivers are applied).
  • Electronic check payments (ACH) and credit card payments can now be made against your student account by using STAR Information System at (http://www.mix.wvu.edu).
  • To participate in the Installment Payment Plan, make an initial payment of at least sixty percent (60%) of the current due balance by January 5, 2007. The remaining balance must be paid prior to the end of the sixth week of classes, February 16, 2007. If this remaining balance is not paid by this date, a late payment fee will be assessed on the following business day. Late fees are then assessed monthly on unpaid balances.
  • To enroll in the TuitionPay monthly payment plan through Sallie Mae, please visit their web-site at http://www.tuitionpay.com/wvu or call their toll free number at 1-800-635-0120. There is a fee of $35.00 to enroll for Spring semester, but no other interest or finance charges. Students will need to enroll prior to December 1, 2006 to enroll in the 5-pay plan (prior to January 1, 2007 to enroll in the 4-pay plan, etc.). Please visit the web-site above for more details of the available plans and to learn about all that TuitionPay has to offer.
  • Refund checks will be mailed to your mailing/local address by the first week of classes, provided you have:
    • Signed your promissory note (if applicable)
    • Completed entrance counseling (if applicable)
    • Registered for the appropriate number of hours.
  • Be sure your Mailing/Local Address is correct to ensure that any refunds will be promptly received. Addresses for students living in University Residence Halls will be updated automatically. To update your address, contact the Office of Admissions & Records, any cashier satellite office or STAR Information System (http://www.mix.wvu.edu/).
  • Student account and billing information is now available at STAR Information System (http://www.mix.wvu.edu/).
  • Electronic check payments (ACH) can now be made against your student account by using STAR Information System (http://www.mix.wvu.edu/).
  • Credit Card payments can now be made against your student account by using the STAR Information System (http://www.mix.wvu.edu/)
