Information Assurance and Biometrics - College of Engineering and Mineral Resources
Because we are faced with what appears to be a permanently increasing security risk and vulnerability that results from a rising dependence on computers, our society needs a large number of trained professionals to mitigate these risks and build and maintain trusted computing environments. A graduate-level Certificate in Information Assurance and Biometrics will provide a student-centered learning environment that educates and trains professionals to meet the changing needs of industry, government, and academia. The program is interdisciplinary in nature and includes elements of biometrics technology, system security engineering, sociological and legal aspects of biometrics, principles of trusted systems, etc. The coursework includes 15 credit hours of classes. A capstone project is required as part of the Advanced Biometrics course.
