Certificate Programs
A certificate program (as distinguished from the
one-year Certificate Degree Program offered by several community
and technical colleges) is a coherent, specialized curriculum designed
for students in search of a specific body of knowledge for personal/career
development or professional continuing education. The certificate program is not necessarily attached to a graduate degree, although credit hours earned in a certificate program may be applied to a graduate degree if deemed appropriate by a given WVU department. The awarding of a graduate certificate is not contingent upon completion of a degree program. The certificate will appear on the student's transcript and a department may issue an official certificate of completion.
