Cultural Resource Management - Department of History
Cultural Resource Management (CRM) is a distinct area of study that examines historic structures, archeological sites, museum and archival collections, and other expressions of the cultural life of a people. The term "Cultural Resource Management" refers to managing places and artifacts of archeological, architectural, and historical interest. In a broader sense, cultural resources are those parts of the physical environment, both natural and built, that have cultural value of some kind to some socio-cultural group. CRM has grown out of the need to preserve and manage this heritage for future generations. The masters-level Certificate in CRM consists of 12 hours of courses, plus a 3-hour internship at a field location (or individual research project).
