Healthcare Administration - Public Administration Department

The Public Administration Department offers a healthcare administration specialization for the student interested in a career in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, health departments, nursing homes, mental health services, home health services, nonprofit voluntary agencies, health research foundations, public and private insurance, and a variety of governmental agencies. A student not desiring a degree may take this 15-hour specialization and be awarded a certificate upon successful completion. A capstone course is required for non-degree students or for those students who do not have a field experience, internship experience, or a capstone course within their course of study. Students can be in another graduate program or may be non-degree students. Some of the credits completed for the certificate may be counted toward degree completion, within the guidelines of the University, if the student decides to pursue a graduate degree at a later date.
