Students appointed as graduate assistants are eligible to apply for remission of tuition and certain fees. Tuition and some fees are generally remitted or paid for fellows also. All students must pay the Health Science, Daily Athenaeum, Library, Mountainlair, Radio Station (U-92), Recreation Center, and Technology Fee (i.e., Mandatory Special Fees A). Payment of Special Fees B which include Athletics, Health Counseling Service and Programs, Student Affairs, and Transportation-PRT, is at the graduate assistants, fellows, and trainees option. The Office of Graduate Education automatically abates this for all graduate assistants and fellows. If these services are needed by the graduate assistant and fellow, they must come into the Office of Graduate Education to remove the abatement and proceed to the Office of Student Accounts and pay for the whole Special Fee B package.
