The Mountaineer Information Xpress, or MIX, is a Web platform customized for WVU students. Through MIX, you can check your grades, send and receive e-mail, register for classes, pay your tuition and fees, keep up with student organizations, and find out what’s happening on campus.
MIX is the University’s primary means of communicating with students. Through MIX, you may receive messages about your major, reminders about approaching deadlines, and campus event information. The best way to learn about WVU is to log in to MIX and explore on your own. Students should check their MIX daily for e-mail and announcements.
nside MIX, you will see a row of tabs at the top of the page, one of which is the STAR tab. THis connect you with the WVU STAR Information System where you can check your financial aid award, pay your tuition and fees, receive updates on your housing assignment, and look up your roommate.
If you experience problems with any of the systems, please call the HelpDesk at 304-293-4444 and write to mix@mail.wvu.edu . Web Services can not reset passwords so it is very important that if this is the issue that you contact the HelpDesk.
Students will only be able to set up autoforwarding of mail to the following domains:
- mail.wvu.edu
- hsc.wvu.edu
- rcbhsc.wvu.edu
This is to ensure that mail is delivered to students and faculty in a prompt and reliable manner. The University is compelled to ensure the some documents such as the notice of the Clery Act, the drug and alcohol use policy, etc. are delivered to students, There were also many instances of lost mail due to full forwarding accounts, especially if an account was spammed. This is your University account and the primary reason that you have it is to support communication about your academic and student life experience here at WVU.
Faculty have the choice to forward to their GroupWise accounts. To set a forwarding address visit https://stats.mix.wvu.edu/ and login with your MIX username and password. Please note that it is a secure site so you must add the "s" after http.
Recent graduates will retain their MIX accounts for 6 months after graduation. If you are a recent graduate and wish to have your mail forwarded to an outside account, you will need to call the HelpDesk at 304-293-4444 to make this request after June 1, 2008. You will need to provide your birthdate, WVU ID, and graduation date so that we can confirm your information before setting the autoforwarding option. This option is only open to recent graduates.
