WVU horn professor Virginia Thompson has recorded a collection of dramatic compositions that were written for her. Three of the works feature Prof. James Miltenberger on piano. Colors: Music for Horn (Mark Masters, 7654-MCD) was released in July and includes works by WVU Professors Emeritus Gerald Lefkoff and Gilbert Trythall, and WVU alumni Gabriel Stockhausen (B.M. 2001) and Jianjun He (D.M.A. 2001), as well as a prize-winning work by University of New Hampshire Professor Andrew Boysen, Jr., who is a former student of Dr. Thompson. The CD was recorded in the Bloch Learning and Performance Center of the Creative Arts Center by WVU Recording Engineer, Mark Benincosa, and is available from Amazon.com. Members of the WVU community may purchase it directly from Virginia Thompson for a special rate.
