General Information

The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences is comprised of two academic departments: The Department of Coaching and Teaching Studies and the Department of Sport Studies. The Department of Coaching and Teaching Studies offers degrees in Athletic Coaching Education and Physical Education Teacher Education, and also offers a wide variety of physical education courses to the WVU student body through its Basic Instruction component. The Department of Sport Studies offers degrees in Athletic Training, Sport and Exercise Psychology , and Sport Management.

Both faculty and academic programs of the College have achieved state, district and national recognition. The Doctor of Philosphy (Ph.D.) degree in Kinesiology offered by the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences is the only such program in the State of West Virginia.
