Programs
At the WVMDC, children are given ample opportunities to practice emerging skills in a pleasant and supervised learning environment.  The Clinical staff of the WVMDC provide leadership in instructional programs of fundamental motor skills, aquatic readiness, and fitness education.  In addition, parents and grandparents are included in the Center's gym and pool programs because they are very influential teachers.  Intergenerational programs build family bonds based on involvement and lay the early foundation for establishing active lifestyles for the entire family.

The Motor Development Center offers a wide variety of programs for many age groups and ability levels in both gym based and water based learning environments. In the Skills programs, the focus is on fundamental motor skills and concept development.  The aquatic Splash programs incorporate the gym-based curriculum with special emphasis on aquatic readiness skills. In the Choosy Kids Club, children participate in aerobic activities and games, strength development activities, and  engage in a variety of educational experiences about nutrition and health.
