THE GOALS OF PLTC

 

Promote the participation of psychologists in delivering services to and conducting research with older adults in long-term care settings.

Provide education and training opportunities to psychologists and other long-term care professionals.

Assist long-term care settings in gaining access to expert psychological services for their residents.

Foster communication among psychologists and other professionals who provide services and conduct research in long-term care settings.

Advocate for public policies that will promote access to mental health services for all long-term care residents.

Create networking opportunities for psychologists and other mental health professionals to improve the quality of clinical, educational, and research activities in long term care.

Liaison with other organizations interested in mental health and aging.
