Anton in show business
by Jane Martin
directed by Jessica D. Morgan
This madcap comedy follows three actresses across the footlights into a strangely familiar Wonderland that looks a
lot like American theatre, as they pursue their dream of performing Chekhov in Texas. Variety calls it “ A smart,
acerbic crowd-pleaser . . . Simultaneously a love letter and a poison pen letter to the American theatre.” In the
tradition of great backstage comedies, “Anton” conveys the absurdities of “putting on a
play.”

Palace.
It is home to one of the most vivacious pinball machines ever devised and to an intoxicating cast of characters who explore the possibilities of living a life which does not hurt anyone; a life concerned with ordinary people and simple values. A Pulitzer Prize–winning, truly American classic play. “One of the most enchanting theatrical works imaginable.” —New York Herald Tribune
