Since arriving at WVU in 1985,
Milian has supervised the Costume Shop faciilties and student designers
and technicians for
more than sixty-five productions. Her areas of expertise include historic
garments utilizing flat pattern and draping techniques, and tailoring
skills for
period garment construction. Commercially, Milian works as a
cutter/draper for numerous theatre, television, and film productions
at the regional
and national levels. Regional theatres include Williamstown Theatre
Festival, Coconut Grove Playhouse, the Utah Shakekspeare Festival,
the Jean Cocteau
Repertory Theatre, and The American Place Theater in New York
City. Television and film credits include Babylon
5 and Hart
to Hart. She has worked with
such directors, designers and actors as José Ferrer,
Nikos Psacharopoulos, Carol Rocamora, Ann Hould-Ward, Robert
Turturice, Richard Hornung, Jess
Goldstein, Blythe Danner, Christopher Reeve, Diane Keaton, Stephanie
Powers, and Robert Wagner.
