WVU Electronic Institutional Document Repository
Collection Access Instructions
The WVU Electronic Institutional Document Repository (eIDR) contains several collections including Electronic Theses and Dissertations (eTD), Electronic Honors Theses (eHT) and Electronic Scholarly Resources Archive (eSRA). Additional information about the collections is available at http://eidr.wvu.edu/collection_overview.phtml. Two portals are listed from the eIDR home page: "eIDR Basic Access" and "eIDR Login", as indicated in the following illustration.
The "eIDR Basic Access" portal provides access to the bibliographic records and abstracts for all approved WVU electronic submissions; however, only documents designated as "World" access may be downloaded directly from the Web. Documents designated with "Campus" availability may be accessed on the Web only by authorized campus users. Alternate access arrangements may be made by contacting the Inter-Library Loan Department at your local academic institution. WVU faculty, students and staff may login to access campus restricted documents by using the eIDR Login portal.
Use the following procedure to login to the WVU eIDR system.
Go to http://eidr.wvu.edu/
Click on the "eIDR Login" link
Note: Login requires use of the WVU Central ID. If you need to activate or find out information about your WVU Central ID, click on the "WVU Central ID" link and follow the instructions from the Central ID system. If you have problems please contact the WVU Office of Information Technology Help Desk at 293-4444, ext. 1. Once you have activated your Central ID, return to eIDR Login and click on the "eTD", eHT or eSRA link for the appropriate login screen.
Once you are logged in you will see several options on the main menu screen; you may search or browse one or all collections.
To search the collection, click on the "Assisted Search" link for a variety of search applications. For example, to search by keywords, enter the keywords in the "Search For" box and select "Keywords" from the "Search In" pull-down menu, then click the "Search Collection(s)" button at the bottom of the screen. Additional assistance for using search commands is available by clicking the "Help" menu in the top center of the main menu page.
You will then get a search result screen (index of relevant entries).
Click on the author / title information to take you to the respective "Document Data" screen.
Click on the "Access Document" link (located in the upper and lower left side of the screen) to reveal the pdf (or other) file link.
