Information Waiver
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records. These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level. Students to whom the rights have transferred are "eligible students."
Under this Act, Mountaineer Card Services is not permitted to provide debit or meal plan usage information except to the student. " Below" is a waiver that the student may sign and submit if he/she wishes Mountaineer Card Services to share debit or meal balances and debit or meal plan usage with parents.
These student-signed waivers should be mailed to or dropped off at one of the Mountaineer Card Services locations:

I understand further that (1) I have the right not to consent to the release of the above referenced records; (2) I have the right to receive a copy of such records upon request; (3) and that this consent shall remain in effect until revoked by me, in writing, and delivered to WVU, but that any such revocation shall not affect disclosures previously made by WVU prior to the receipt of any such written revocation.
