The West Virginia Center for Sustainable Agriculture has concentrated its efforts toward communication with professional staff and the farmers and communities we serve. The leadership responsibilities of the Sustainable Agriculture program at West Virginia University has changed from the undivided attention of visiting professor to shared attention from a multidiscipline committee chaired by a full-time farm management specialist. The committee make-up includes specialists in soils, forage production, weed control, integrated pest management, livestock production, and marketing, farm management, forestry, as well as three field agents who have a more general approach to agriculture with many years of experience in program delivery. The current chairmen, Tom McConnell ( TRMcConnell@mail.wvu.edu ) was a county agent for 20 years.
