PHYSICAL PLANT PAINTING POLICY

PURPOSE

To ensure that WVU facilities are regularly painted, that appropriate colors are used, and that all painting is done by Physical Plant professionals.

SCOPE

This policy applies to all University faculty, staff, and students that work in WVU facilities that are maintained by the Physical Plant.

POLICY

Physical Plant maintains a 10-year painting cycle, as part of normal maintenance, to address the needs of all major buildings on the University campus. Color charts are available that provide information on colors that support the overall aesthetics of the campus. The charts and schedules can be requested through the Physical Plant Help Desk at 293-4357. Specialized colors or requests not of a routine nature may be chargeable and should be discussed with the appropriate WVU Building Supervisor and initiated through the Physical Plant Help Desk. Under no circumstances are departments authorized to perform painting internally or through the use of a contractor.

PROCEDURE

Procedure development rests with the Physical Plant.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTATION

The responsibility for implementation of this policy rests with the Resource Management section of Physical Plant, WVU Deans/Chairpersons and Building Supervisor(s). Physical Plant, at 293-4357 or P.O. Box 6570, is available to answer questions or provide additional information regarding this policy.
