POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION FACILITIES INVENTORY AND
CLASSIFICATION MANUAL, WVU SPACE PLANNING STANDARDS POLICY,
BOARD OF TRUSTEES POLICY BULLETIN NUMBER 54

PURPOSE

All University facility’s allocations will be reviewed and/or confirmed on a two-year cycle based on the Campus Master Plan.

SCOPE

This policy applies to Physical Plant Planning, Design and Construction.

POLICY

Physical Plant Planning, Design and Construction is responsible for the continual review, update, and expansion of the University’s Space Allocation Planning Strategy as part of the Campus Master Plan.

Based upon accepted West Virginia University Planning Standards, a base-line space allocation requirement will be maintained and updated annually. Such review will include not only an evaluation against space standards, but also shall be submitted for continuations and confirmations against long-term program planning discussions.

PROCEDURE

Procedure development rests with Physical Plant Planning, Design and Construction.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTATION

The responsibility for implementation of this policy is the responsibility of Physical Plant Planning, Design and Construction based on the Master Plan.

Physical Plant, at 293-4357 or P.O. Box 6570, is available to answer questions or provide additional information regarding this policy.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR INTERPRETATION

The responsibility for interpretation of this policy rests with the Director of the Physical Plant.
