  • West Virginia maintains approximately 97 million head of poultry (including commercial broilers and turkeys) yearly, bringing in over $198.5 million.
  • West Virginia ranks 14th in turkey production and 18th in broiler production.
  • West Virginia maintains approximately 420,000 head of cattle yearly, bringing in close to $76 million.
  • Hogs, pigs, sheep, and lambs are also raised in West Virginia.
  • Approximately 266 million pounds of milk is produced in West Virginia yearly.
  • West Virginia is the 12th ranked peach producer in the nation, producing 13 million pounds annually.
  • West Virginia is ranked 9th nationwide in apple production, producing 115 million pounds annually.
