INTRODUCTION
The Carruth Center’s main mission as a division of Student Affairs at WVU is to serve students. Another way we do that is through consultation with others who have a concern for the well-being of WVU students. This may include Faculty and Staff, Parents, and RAs and other Residence Life staff. Please click on the links above or use the navigation menu to the left for more information about how we can help you help students.
Our outreach efforts are designed to provide information about psychological issues of concern to the campus community (such as depression, suicide, eating disorders, and anxiety disorders) and to reduce the stigma associated with getting help. We organize a variety of outreach events and activities during the course of the academic year, including Stress Busters Week in the fall and Eating Disorders Awareness and Prevention Week in the spring.
Depending on staff availability, we are sometimes able to provide speakers for classes and campus groups on psychological topics, usually during the first few weeks of each semester. If you are interested in requesting a program, please go to our Request Programs page.
