Mid-Autumn Festival Party (Oct. 7, 2006 at Ballrooms in Mountainlair

Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) and the Chinese Association of West Virginia(WVCA) hosted a big party for all Chinese at Morgantown to celebrate the Mid-autumn festival. Chinese snacks ( candy, dessert, melon seeds etc.) and moon-cake were served. About 400 persons including many American friends were getting together and had great funs.

CSSA set up a booth to show  Chinese tradinational crafts and modern pictures.  Also we introduce some Chinese interests, such as Forbidden City, Great Wall through video provided by Chinese Embassy.

       Program:    Beijing opera (by Gu Jianhua), Kara Ok,  Ball room danceing,  Games.......

This event is funded by Shelly A. Marshall Foundation and is free for chiledren.  Kids can learn different countries and     cultures through books, songs, dances and foods. CSSA was warmly invited to participate in it.  We got tables to exhibit our special things.

l    Celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival every year.

l   Celebration of Spring Festival (Chinese New Year Festival) every year.

l    Parents and Dependents Club will hold activities for all Chinese parents and dependents now and then. contact person: Mei Qing via mei.qing@mail.wvu.edu 

l    Football fans play every Saturday afternoon, around 3:00pm, usually  at Coliseum field. Contact person: Youbin Tu via ytu@mix.wvu.edu .

l    Basketball fans play every Friday Evening and every Sunday afternoon usually at Recreation Center. Contact person: Nan Wu wuxia15@hotmail.com .

If you are a football fan or a basketball fan, please join the respective group lists. A message about the exact time and place of each play will be posted on the list.
