Canoeing - Savage River Resevior/Big Run State Park (MD)
Description
The Savage Reservoir is a 350 acre lake surrounded by the Savage State Forest with Big Run State Park located at the north end of the lake. The size of the lake and restrictions on engines make this a quiet and quaint canoeing experience.
Directions from Morgantown
I 68 into MD. Take exit 22 and follow Chestnut Ridge Rd south to New Germany Rd. Turn left onto New Germany Rd and travel 1.3 miles to New Germany State Park. Continue from here south for 3 miles to Big Run Rd on the left. Go 5 miles to Big Run State Park.
