Canoeing - South Branch of the Potomac (The Trough)

Description
Classic class I (II) float/fishing trip that can be done as an overnight. This is the first spot in this part of the state that Bald Eagles nested in the 1980's. Keep an eye open, they are still there. Springfield gauge should be 1.8 ft or higher. Map (pdf)
Directions from Morgantown
Take I 68 east to Cumberland (exit 43b). Go south on SR 28 to Romney. Go west (right) about 1 mile on US 50 and go left on cr 8 (South Branch R. Rd). Go 9.8 miles to the take out at Sector. For the put-in, continue on cr 8/6 for about 11 miles and turn right on CR 1/5. Go .9 miles to US 220 and turn right to the put-in bridge.
