Whitewater - Dry Fork (CR 26 to Hendrix)
Description
Great surfing. Quality class III with a couple easier class IV rapids toward the end at high water. Great intermediate run. Nice scenery, with waterfalls coming in on the south side of the river. Map (pdf).
Directions from Morgantown
Rt. 7 through Masontown and Kingwood to rt. 72 south. From Rowlesburg go another 25 miles to Parsons. Take a left turn onto 219/72 and then a right onto rt 72. Go to Hendrix with the take out near the footbridge over the river. Continue about 4 miles to the east on 72 to cr 26 that goes along the river. The put in is along this road before it leaves the river. An alternative put-in is upstream at Jenningston, but the shuttle is a lot longer.
