Whitewater - Shenendoah River

Description
This section has a great range of whitewater personalities. At low water (during most of the summer), it is a good beginner/family run. At medium water level, it is an intermediate playground with many different surfing opportunities. At high water it is considered one of the best playboating spots in the east. Class II-III (at low to med. levels). 7 miles. Commercial outfitters offer trips on this section. Map (pdf).
