Description
Class IV-V section with Swallow Falls just after the put-in. 3 miles with an extra 1.5 miles above the bridge if you hike upstream from the put-in. Map (pdf).
Directions from Morgantown
I 68 to Friendsville, MD. To get to the take-out, follow Rt. 42 South for 7.5 miles to Rt 219S. Go right and travel 1 mile to Sang Run Rd on the right. Go .6 miles and turn left on Hoyes Run Rd. Go 3.3 miles to Oakland Sang Run. Rd and the river. For the put-in, go right on Oakland Sang Run Rd. for 2.3 miles until it intersects with Swallow Falls Rd. Go Right for 1.1 miles to the parking spot next to the bridge.
