Tucker County is fortunate to have a wealth of natural resources and scenic beauty. In addition to the Monongahela National Forest, the county boasts two state parks, two golf courses, two ski resorts, the Allegheny Highlands Rail-Trail, Dolly Sods Wilderness Area and numerous recreational opportunities such as fishing, whitewater rafting, camping, biking, and hiking. The county’s economic base includes coal, limestone quarries, timber, livestock, and fruit farms. The county consists of some 422 square miles, with a population around 7,200.
