Talk with 4-H alumni and one thing you'll find they have in common is that they credit 4-H with helping them become who they are today. Through 4-H, alumni say, they gained confidence, learned to speak before others, developed leadership and responsibility, practiced values that build character, and gained lifelong friendships.

Talk with younger 4-H'ers and they'll tell you that 4-H is fun--a chance to be a part of a large family with older and younger "brothers and sisters," a chance to do new things, go places, and make friends.

Talk with older 4-H'ers and you'll hear how they learn about leadership, gain the respect of their friends, have opportunities to earn recognition, and share their skills with family, school, and community.
