2004 General Election Survey of Boilermakers Local 667
2004 General Election post-election survey results from a statewide local union. The survey was mailed on election day, November 2, 2004, to almost 1,100 members of a boilermakers local. The survey was designed to compare boilermakers journeyman with apprentices. As part of the educational effort by West Virginia University’s Institute for Labor Studies and Research, ILSR delivered political action education to all the boilermaker apprentices as part of their apprenticeship program. With the crisis for the labor movement and labor education being shaped in part by the political arena, it is important to analyze the impact of efforts by both the labor movement and labor education programs.
