- Extension answers hundreds of questions on topics ranging from pests to
family resilience.
- Extension provides educational information daily on AM 1340 WEPM Radio and
every Sunday in the Martinsburg Journal.
- Extension faculty develop up-to-date research information and conduct programs
on agriculture, youth development, and family life.
- Agriculture in the Classroom, organized by Extension and supported by West
Virginia Farm Bureau, shows teachers innovative methods of incorporating agricultural
activities into classrooms.
- 4-H helps more than 4,000 youths develop critical-thinking, social, communication,
and decision-making skills; become aware of career opportunities; identify
leadership roles and styles; and learn the "art of getting along."
- Our Child Care Training is a resource of continuing education for child
care providers.
- The Master Gardener program is an ongoing activity that teaches gardening
basics to tri-county residents who volunteer countless hours within the community.
- Extension faculty educate citizens on the importance of early breast cancer
detection.
- The Family Nutrition Program, a free county program, educates participants
on meal planning, food preparation, food safety, and how to stretch food dollars
and have enough food.
- The Community Educational Outreach Service clubs support many volunteer
service and educational programs.
