Clay County Points of Pride

- The Clay County Extension office is making history as the first Extension
office in West Virginia to house agents from both WVU and W.Va. State College.
- Teachers can tell you why 4-H’ers excel in school. More than 350 Clay
County youths guided by 35 volunteers merge fun activities with learn-by-doing
skill development. Individual projects and community service programs let
4-H’ers research issues, organize plans, and present their ideas. And
4-H makes it fun!
- Kids and teens love 4-H camp! The fun includes learning about careers, environmental
stewardship, citizenship, communications, self-discovery, and friendship.
That means parents and teachers love 4-H camp, too.
- 4-H and FFA members exhibit projects at the Clay County Agriculture Youth
Fair. The youths sold more than $23,000 worth of market animals, and supporters
of 4-H, FFA, and other community groups raised $500.
- Through one-on-one contacts and mass media programs, we provide information
about nutrition, pest identification and control, livestock management, gardening,
landscaping, and other topics.
- Our office is your gateway to research-based answers questions about horticulture,
home gardening, farm management, nutrition. Call us today!
- Don’t guess; soil test! Ask us for a free soil test kit.
- Your budget and the environment will benefit
- Using pesticides? Need certification? Not sure? Don’t take chances!
Let us help you determine if you need to be certified as a private pesticide
applicator.
