Logan County Points of Pride

- Nearly 1,000 youths participate in the county's 4-H, Cloverbud, and EFNEP
(Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program) activities led by about 70
adults. More than 300 youths and 50 volunteers participated in 12 weeks of
summer programs.
- Extension's EFNEP outreach workers visited more than 175 homes twice monthly
and presented health and nutrition programs at Head Start, local health fairs,
PRIDE Inc., and youth learning programs.
- Extension provides lawn, garden, and agriculture information to hundreds
of county residents every year. More than 1,000 county residents received
information through Extension's garden calendars, newsletters, and newspaper
articles. Another 1,000 received information via telephone consultations and
home visits.
- Logan County's 4-H Camp provides youths a week of fun and educational activities.
Sports, crafts, songs, and classes are just some of the highlights of this
five-day resident camp.
- The county's Energy Express Program is conducted in conjunction with the
Logan County Board of Education. The summer educational program helps elementary-school-age
children improve their reading skills and also provides hot meals and free
books for participants.
