This program introduces students to traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, painting mounting, and more. Students will also have the opportunity to visit Chinese art, historical and cultural sites. The studio portion of the program in Nanjing will enable students to engage in a working relationship with artists and craftsmen from Nanjing and the surrounding areas. The Nanjing Art Institute faculty will lecture and demonstrate their skill and ideas, introducing students to traditional Chinese painting. Studio time is designed to allow students an opportunity to incorporate Chinese painting techniques, materials and concepts into their own artistic expression.
