This course is designed to examine the political institutions and judicial systems of Britain, France, Germany and the European Union. The program helps broaden students understanding of law and politics by comparing American law and institutions with those of the EU.
The location of Strasbourg is home of several major institutions of the European Union including the European Parliament. Strasbourg is also easily accessible to other major EU institutions in Luxembourg and Brussels, which make it the perfect site for immersion into the EU scene.
Students will be required to attend daily lectures and site visits throughout the course. Lecturers will include politicians and officials associated with EU institutions and the court in both France and Germany.
