Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of International Programs is to promote the internationalization of teaching, research and service at West Virginia University. At the core of this mission is to globalize the curriculum at WVU through the promotion of study abroad and collaborative international research. In support of this mission, the West Virginia University Office of International Programs adheres to the following principles:

• West Virginia University is a global campus.
• Study Abroad can be a life changing cultural experience and supports unique inquiry-based and experiential learning opportunities;
• Institutional internationalization promotes campus diversity and multiculturalism; International students provide valuable cultural diversity on campus;
• International research and service broadens the horizons of the WVU community; and
• Internationalization supports state economic development.
