The Language
Learning Resource Center (LLRC) of the Department of Foreign Languages is not
your ordinary student access computer word processing facility.
The
LLRC is fast becoming a state of the art interactive multimedia facility whose
broad scope mission is to assist students with the study of foreign languages
and cultures through providing a wide variety of language learning resources and
technology equipment. Additionally the LLRC aims to facilitate the positive integration
of technology into on going language instruction by providing instructors equipment
and technical support for their learning activity projects.
The
LLRC also serves the Department of Foreign Languages by providing equipment lending
services, IT development work stations for instructors, and administration of foreign language placement exams.

for faculty and technology assisted curriculum development.
Audio tape facilities: Audio cassette workstations, audio cassette library and
tape duplicating services.
The LLRC is open to faculty, students and staff of the Department of Foreign Languages
and the Intensive English Program. It is not an open university lab.

here to help Instructors create language learning programs that supplement their
instruction objectives, and we are always pleased to help individual students
or groups of students attain the resources they need to supplement their language

FL Students- Supplement Materials: Interactive practice for learners of

an excellent example of one of the many interactive computer aided resources FL
learners find useful at the LLRC. These kinds of learning materials are available
for learners when they want to study; not just class time. The LLRC has materials
to supplement German, Italian, Spanish, French. | |

| Faculty- Resources: IT in language
learning. | | Language Instructors at West
Virginia University and the Intensive English Program have the LLRC as a resource
of instructional materials for their learners to access and as an IT lab for conducting
integration classes as part of their curriculum. Instructors take advantage of
the resources available as means for encouraging learners to utilize the target
language in a variety of media formats. | |
