Faculty Service: Resources

The LLRC is available to all faculty and staff as a resource facility. They will find IT equipment such as cassette tape recorders and listening stations, personal computers, and various software packages designed to supplement language learning.

The LLRC also has an abundance of listening and interaction activities available for teachers to use as part of their lesson planning. Cassette tapes and CD ROMS for listening, pronunication, grammar, and other language skills are available to instructors. These materials are available for reserve, however they cannot be checked out for overnight use.

LLRC

Here Prof. Susan Braidi, an avid IT user, monitors students' progress in pronunciation class. "Big smile everyone -- now say E-E-E-E!"

Here a student poses for the camera while taking a break from an online course activity. Some courses which have online content are accessed by students in the LLRC. Instructors are encouraged to use IT with their ESL learners. The LLRC offers guidance for instructors who think IT is a good idea, but don't know were to start.

Technology integration is something the LLRC and the neighboring IEP support. Here an IEP instructor is teaching a content English language (ESL) course about Web sites using IT. Similar instruction strategies are available to faculty and staff. If you are interested in integrating technology into your courses, contact the LLRC.
