Updated: 6/23/08

Welcome to the West Virginia University McNair Scholars Program

The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program at WVU helps two groups of undergraduate students prepare for and succeed in graduate school: (1) first-generation (neither parent has a college degree) with financial need and (2) under-represented (Black, Hispanic, American Indian/Alaskan native, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders).

McNair provides $2800 annual stipend, GRE preparation, mentor-guided research opportunities, travel money for conferences and for graduate school visits.

To qualify, you must be a member of one of the two groups mentioned above, plus have a desire to earn a Ph.D. You must also have 60 credit hours and an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.

Please call WVU McNair office for more information.

We look forward to hearing from you!
