These fees apply to all WVU students and to anyone else who has received approval to request the services of WVU Sound Productions.

Policies

A.Recording fees must be paid to Sr. Administrative Secretary Jodie Lewis (room 416A) ten calendar days in advance of the session/recital; otherwise, the service will not be delivered. Checks should be payable to WVU Sound Productions.

B.1. Recitals and recording sessions must be scheduled through CCA Assistant Director Mark Oreskovich by email at Mark.Oreskovich@mail.wvu.edu at least six weeks in advance of the event. Students cannot be guaranteed publicity, recording services, program duplication, and other event support unless the recital is scheduled SIX weeks ahead of time. Events that are not scheduled through appropriate channels will not be recorded.

2. Changes in the dates of events must be confirmed with the Recording Engineer.

3. Faculty, guest artists (where permission is granted through a signed release), and major ensemble performances are automatically recorded and archived.

4. Recording sessions may be scheduled for any day of the week, except University holidays and holiday weekends. It is usually impossible, however, to record events that are scheduled at the last minute. Should it be possible to chedule a recording session with less than ten calendar days notice, the session will cost an additional $20. The Recording Engineer will establish a priority list of services in the event of schedule conflicts.

Note: Normal recording spaces in the Creative Arts Center are the Concert Theatre, Gladys Davis Theatre, Choral Recital Hall (200A), and the Orchestra Rehearsal Room (200B). Recording in other locations may cause unforeseen problems and expenses. Contact the Recording Engineer or Director of Recording Services, Dr. John Beall (room 415A) for more information.

Recitals given by faculty members outside of the Creative Arts Center , but in greater Morgantown , will be recorded provided personnel and equipment are available. Faculty members may contract the recording service independently for recording outside of Morgantown.

Recitals given by students in venues outside of the Creative Arts Center may e recorded subject to the above limitations on travel, personnel, and equipment.

A $25 surcharge will be added for any recital recorded off campus. This fee may be waived if circumstances warrant.
