One-on-1 Piano or Voice Lesson

Join us for One-on-1

If you are a young pianist or singer and thinking about a career in the arts, we invite you to check out this one day, one-of-a-kind opportunity at West Virginia University ’s Creative Arts Center on Sunday, October 14, 2007.

We created One-on-1 as a non-competitive experience  for high school students who want to learn more about the exceptional piano and voice programs at West Virginia University’s Division of Music and College of Creative Arts.

One-on-1 is a relaxed opportunity to receive an individualized "one-on-one" piano or voice lesson from one of WVU’s nationally-known music faculty.  Special sessions on  topics such as careers, the art of collaboration, and new trends in recording technology will be offered throughout the afternoon. The day-long program also includes a special FAQ session for students and parents, a “ behind-the scenes” tour of WVU’s newly-renovated Creative Arts Center, dinner and a recital by Division of Music students and faculty.

On Monday, October 15, One-on-1 participants will have the option of spending additional time at the Creative Arts Center observing college music classes, ensemble rehearsals, and applied lessons. We welcome you to observe our program in action.

We hope you will join us for One-on-1, and experience first-hand how WVU enables students to combine their individual love of music with the best of academics in a setting that’s designed for personal and artistic success.
