Mr. Pirner has developed a new course called Lakota Studies which deals with art, politics, history, religion, social probems, and culture of the Lakota people of the Northern Plains. He was a 30-year resident of the Rosebud Lakota Reservation in South Dakota, a tribal college administrator, and advisor to the film "Dances with Wolves."
