| Time On Trial
On April 25 and 26, 2008 the Department of Philosophy, with support from the West Virginia Humanities Council and the Philosophy of Time Society, hosted “Time on Trial: One Hundred Years of McTaggart’s Argument against Time” at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown. The three keynote speakers were Professor Michael Tooley, of the University of Colorado, Professor Nathan Oaklander, from the University of Michigan, Flint, and Professor Quentin Smith, at Western Michigan University. The rest of the speakers were chosen through a competitive blind-review process. They were Jonathan Tallant, University of Nottingham; Kevin Falvey, University of California, Santa Barbara; Michelle Beer, Florida International University; Vasileios Tsompanidis, also of UC, Santa Barbara; Hans Sprecher, Brown University; and Brad Monton, University of Colorado. Audience members came from all over, as far as Canada.

A blog associated with the conference is up and running. Videorecordings of the event should be available on this website shortly. The proceedings are set to be published in Philosophia. See this site for further updates on that. Visit the Philosophy of Time Society site and consider becoming a member. Contact Ernâni Magalhães with any inquiries.
