The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences at West Virginia University promotes active participation in sport and physical activity across the life span. The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences prepares future professionals in the areas of athletic training, athletic coaching, sport management, physical education teacher education, and sport and exercise psychology. Graduates find employment in the fields of athletic training, coaching, sport marketing, teaching, administration, and wellness/fitness programs.
The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences is comprised of two academic departments: The Department of Coaching and Teaching Studies and the Department of Sport Sciences. The Department of Coaching and Teaching Studies offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in athletic coaching education and physical education teacher education, and also offers a wide variety of physical education courses to the WVU student body through its Basic Instruction component. The Department of Sport Sciences offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in athletic training, sport and exercise psychology , and sport management.
