1. How long will it take?
The program is 36 credit hours distributed across two summers and two academic years.
2. Do I need to travel to West Virginia University?
Yes. The first summer students in the distance Master's program are required to spend up two weeks in the summer at West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, WV. The faculty believe that it is important to have direct contact with teachers throughout the program to deliver a high quality educational experience. The faculty want to know all of the program participants first hand and be able to engender an espirit de corps among all of the teachers. This is important because program participants will be communicating with one another during the course of the degree program.

4. How do I get to WVU?
The easiest way to get to Morgantown, West Virginia is to drive on US 68 through Maryland if you are coming from the east or on US 79 coming from Pennsylvania to the north or from Charleston, WV to the south. If you choose to fly, you can fly directly to Morgantown or Pittsburgh, PA which is about 1 ½ hours to the north. In either case, you will need a rental car to get to your hotel/motel. 5. What technology will I need to complete the program?
Students will be expected to have access to a state-of-the-art Windows-based computer with Internet capabilities, and an e-mail account. Courses are delivered via WebCT VISTA. See the FAQ under the Student tab at http://vista.wvu.edu for browser and plug-in requirements. You will also find a Vista tutorial under the student section of the WVU Vista site.
6. How much will the program cost?
Tuition is paid by the credit hour; in-state tuition applies. Most courses offered in the online program are 3 credits per. See the Extended Learning Fee Schedule for costs per course.
