RESEARCH INTEREST:
My research interest builds upon three areas: (1) organizational theory as applied in the context of sport organizations, (2) international sport development, and (3) sport management as an academic discipline.
In organizational theory, I am interested in examining how environmental forces affect the course of sport organizations and the interdependency of the organization with its constituencies under the paradigms of stakeholder, resource dependence, ecological, network, and institutional theories. In international sport development, I am particularly interested in examining governments’ and private sector involvement with the broad process of sport development in Latin American countries. Finally, in the area of sport management as an academic discipline, I am interested in examining factors that influence the development, growth, and evolution of the profession both on a national and international level of analysis.
