PATS Events for Fall 1998

    Wednesday September 2
      5:30-7:15 p.m.:   PATS "Welcome Back Pizza Party" at 710B Allen Hall.
      PATS will kickoff the new semester with "The Welcome Back Pizza Party" for all Technology Education students and faculty.  Come by to meet new students, catch up with old friends and get some FREE pizza between classes.
    Friday September 4, and every Friday during Semester
      approx. 5:00-7:00 p.m.:  Informal get-together at the Tech Ed Table at the BrewPub.
    Tuesday September 8
      12:30-2:00 p.m.:   TE 496 Graduate Seminar at Tatterson House.  Drs. George Maughan and Edward Pytlik of the Technology Education Program will speak on "Policies and Procedures of the M.A. and Ed.D. Programs of Study.” This session is particularly useful for new Technology Education students, since it provides information crucial to the development of the rest of their course of study.

      2:00-3:00 p.m.:  PATS Meeting in the Conference Room at Tatterson House.  The main agenda item is a description of the calendar of events for Fall Semester.  Look at the complete agenda.

      approx. 5:00-7:00 p.m.:  Informal get-together at the Tech Ed Table at the BrewPub.
    Friday September 18
      10:00 a.m.:  Visit to the ImmersaDesk virtual reality (VR) lab with Dr. VanScoy, CSEE. For details.

      10:00 a.m.:  Field trip to various computing labs at Carnegie Mellon University . Please see details about the trip, carpooling, etc.

      12:30-2:00 p.m.:  TE 496 Graduate Seminar in the multimedia room, Room 405, Allen Hall.  Ken Orgill, Associate Provost for Information Technology (IT), WVU will speak on "What's Hot in IT at WVU".  See our Fall 1998 Newsletter article about this event.

Professor of Parks & Recreation, WVU Division of Forestry will speak on "Environmental Worldviews & Technology: From Resourcism to Deep Ecology".  See our Fall 1998 Newsletter article about this event.

      6:30 p.m.:  Technology Education Holiday Dinner Party at Ali Baba Restaurant, 345 High Street, Morgantown.   Cash bar opens at 6:30 p.m.; buffet dinner begins at 7:30 p.m.    Please contact Stephanie Propst at Tatterson House, 293-3191 to make reservations.    $5 donation per dinner guest.  Reservations on a first-come, first-served policy, so please hurry and RSVP.
