Goals Statement for the Proposed Program: The Master of Arts degree in applied behavior analysis track is offered by the Behavior Analysis Training Program of the Department of Psychology. It is designed to train students in the applications of behavior principles and concepts in situations of daily life. Through both classroom experiences and practica in applied settings, students acquire a broad foundation in behavioral psychology that will guide and inform their decisions as practitioners of behavior analysis. The goal of the program is to produce a behavior analyst who can work in a variety of applied settings with diverse clients. Students completing the M.A. degree in this program will have met all of the requirements necessary to sit for the BCBA examination.
Program Structure: The program is a two-year-plus-one-summer (the latter to ensure the required number of practicum hours for BCBA eligibility) training program leading to an M.A. degree in psychology with a specialization in applied behavior analysis. Students typically matriculate into the program after completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
